The Fritz Henkel Stiftung celebrates its 10th anniversary

Special donation for ten social projects to mark the Fritz Henkel Stiftung’s anniversary

Düsseldorf – The Fritz Henkel Stiftung is celebrating its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the foundation is offering a special donation totaling 100,000 euros to benefit ten social projects around the world, to be presented at an anniversary ceremony in September 2021. More than 52.000 Henkel employees are invited in advance to select the ten projects from 25 international initiatives.

“The anniversary is an occasion for us to take stock, but also to look ahead and further expand our commitment,” says Dr. Simone Bagel-Trah, Chairwoman of the Management Board of the Fritz Henkel Foundation and Chairwoman of Henkel’s Supervisory Board and Shareholders’ Committee. “For us, it has always been important to think beyond mere business activities and to take responsibility for people and society. This commitment is deeply anchored in our corporate culture. With the Fritz Henkel Stiftung, we have not only combined our previous commitment, but have also focused our support on equal opportunities and sustainable education.”

30 million euros in ten years

In the Fritz Henkel Stiftung, Henkel brings together its social commitment and that of its employees and retirees. Since its establishment ten years ago, the foundation has provided donations and grants totaling around 30 million euros, supported more than 4,000 social projects, and benefited around 3.5 million people in more than 100 countries.

“On behalf of the Fritz Henkel Stiftung, we would like to thank all our sponsors and partners for their long-term commitment. In the future, we will address the promotion of education even more sustainably. After all, equal access to education is the key to inclusion in society and democracy. We will also increasingly promote sustainable education in the future. After all, the challenges of the future, such as climate change or digitization, require bright minds in as many countries as possible.

That is our mission for the next decade,” says Karol-Monique Westhoff, Managing Director of the Fritz Henkel Stiftung.
